Moonshine...

Lately there has been some amazing beautiful nights full of moonlight.  The top photo doesn't show how brightly the "ring" was shining around the moon.  It was a cloudless night and super cold. I did some research and found out it is called a moon dog or winter halo.  Read more here.  The bottom left was just super pretty coming up over the mountains.  The bottom right is from the lunar eclipse.

Happiness!!

WOOHOO!!!  So happy to report I get a new schedule!  I have to be to work at the awful hour of 6am.  But do you know what tha means?  I am off at 3!!!  SCORE!!  I also found out that I will be working the day after Thanksgiving. But positive note to that?  I get paid time and half!!  AWESOME!!

I suddenly have the urge to watch the Teenage Ninja Turtles movies.  Yes I am proud to say I own them on DVD.

It is the simple things..

That have been making me happy:  

Seeing my new picture on the wall

Dinner cooking

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been organizing and cleaning my house like mad.  I finally conquered my bedroom.  Not that things were dirty/gross, but I just let chaos and clutter reign supreme.  I let it get so disorganized because I was emotionally conflicted.  I wanted my outer environment to match my inner emotions. 

So I have taken a few weeks and did baby steps to be organized and in control. All closets are organized.  Unused decorations are Rubbermaid bins.  Used blankets are hanging up.  Thankfully I am pretty much done.  I have hated the process but love the result.  It has taken an invisible load of my shoulders.  I want to stay home now.  I used to escape to my parents house nearly every night but now I want to stay at my house.  I don’t see the clutter in the corners and feel intimidated. 

I like being surrounded by my pretty things.  I enjoy hosting my family for dinners.  My blinds and windows are open so the fresh breeze comes though.

So far I have been able to maintain this for a week.  Aim is to keep it going for another week.

I got the vase and flowers are thrift store for a total of $2.50!! 
The vase is actually an insense burner that I have converted.

Dodge a bullet

WHEW!!! I dodge a bullet!  I haven't used my Nikon Point and Shoot lately because nothing has inspired me. I actually dug it out of my purse to get a shot of TJ.  I hit on power button.  The lense expands just a fraction and the retreats.  It expands and retract again so I start to panic thinking great!!  I broke another one!  I didn't have time to fiddle with it so I just tossed it back into the purse and deal with it later. 

I am sitting at work this am and decided to fiddle with it.  So I try a coule of different things and then SUCESS!!  I turned it upside down and kinda blew on it and a little something appeared.  It was a hair or string or something that had been lodged into the lense.  I gently pulled it out and the lense completely expanded!!  WOOHOO!!  I really didn't want to go through the hassel of trying to find another camera on Craigslist or having my family tease me for beign such a bad camera owner!

Weather

So took these pictures on Monday June 14th.  There had been a thunderstorm that day and the sun seemed so much brighter than normal.  The weather in Idaho is what I remember as a child.  There is actually thunder and lightening.

On Sunday there was storm that rolled through that dumped TONS of rain.  It only lasted 10-15 minutes.  Here are some highlights.

falling into fall

I am in a love hate relationship right now. I love that it begining to feel like fall but hate how COLD it got!! If there were just a few more cooler sunny days it would be easier to bear. Today will be the perfect fall day. It is a combo of sunny & cool and cool & rainy. Thank heavens I have a cubicle by the window at work so I can see the changes.

I really love the colors in the fall. And when it rains, the colors are even more vibrant. Halloween is approaching very quickly. I am so excited to see Emma as Dorothy and TJ as Toto. TJ and I were out for a final potty break befor heading to bed when the moon was so pretty. It has some clouds surrounding it and occassionally a cloud would pass in front. I thought it would be the perfect Halloween moon. Sorry the pic didnt turn out as great but you get the idea. Now I need to figure out what I am going to be for Halloween.

When the weather looks gloomy like it is today, all I want to do is curl up on the couch and watch old movies. Today especially calls for soup in the crockpot and homemade bread in the oven.

Praying..

As TJ and I were leaving the house yesterday, I say this praying mantis hanging out on the side of my house. So i move it from the side to the flowers on my door step. I figured it would be gone by the time we got home, but to my suprise it was still there. It was so pretty so I had to stand outside taking a dozen pictures of mantis. The green against the purple was espeically lovely. I am sure I blinded the poor thing but when I left this morning, it was still there.

Summer is ending

So I was out at my parents house tonight and the sun was so amazing. I was thinking that the summer is winding down and I hear a humming bird behind me. I ran in for the camera this is what I saw tonight.
