And I moved.

In case you haven't heard, I have moved back in the with 'rents (aka parents). I had to move because the complex was settling and deemd structurally unsound. So the property management told me I had 2 weeks to be out. I was notified of the move on Febuaray 14 (Monday) and needed to be out by the end of the month. OH JOY!! I did it. The plants and the living room were the first to go as they were some of the most precious items. (Just FYI, the door was on my last day and everything was out..tear :( ) So into the old homestead. It was cramped for a couple of weeks. Because not only was I there, but so was my sister, her husband, and their 2 year old. Plus Mom and Dad. Then TJ. It was interesting. Finally sister moved into her house and I moved into my old high school bedroom. Which is fitting because I am headed back to school. I am enrolling in a local community college, CWI. I plan on studying business administration or something with computers. Who knows. But living with my parents not only allows me to go to school debt free, it also allows me to save for a home. There is a time frame on this project though. I will be out of here by my 30th birthday. That is 3 years from now. Hopefully something changes prior to that but right now that is the plan.

cleaning and organizing

What a weekend!! I dedicated most of the time to cleaning and organizing my household. I decided to follow Moms advice and get organized. I hate to admit that Moms right but when you are organized things go much smoother in other areas of life.
My problem is that when I am in an emotioinal frame of mind I let things go. Laundary doesn't get put away. Groceries stay on the counter. Shoes pile up at the door. Bed doesn't get made. It is a bad habit I need to break.

I have resolved to be more organized. I have cleaned out the closets and put holiday decorations in totes. I have cleaned out my bedroom cloest and hung everything in its proper place. I did MASSIVE amounts of laundary. (I HATE laundary!!)

To make sure I am on the straight and norrow, I have gotten a few new-to-me pieces of furniture. The first pieces that I love is the desk from my generous sister Caitlyn. I haven't liked my entertainment center for awhile. It is just too big for my skinny living room. Caitlyn was telling me she wanted to get rid of a desk she used to hold her TV. PERFECT!! I will take the desk and sell my entertainment center at the garage sale Lexy and I had (which was 2 weeks ago).

I rearranged my living room and LOVE the new layout!! It is much more open and pretty. I have easier access to all my windows which is great with this cool fall weather. Windows open all the time now! :)

The second piece is a new dresser!! It is very similar to the one I currently have. I believe the style is called French Provencial. Mom got me the first dress about a year ago. I prefer the on Mom got because it is made of solid wood and this new one is made of particle board. Oh well. It is hard to find this style. Thank heavens for Craigslist!!
Not the greatest pic but if is the one from Craigslist
To make sure I stay on this path or cleanliness/organization, I decided to invite each sisters family over for 1 meal a week. Not only will this help me stay organized, it will help me eat out less and then be healthier!! WOOHOO!!

Because I am so proud of myself, pics to be posted soon. :)

me and michael....

On Saturday, I watched Oprah (from Friday) on my sisters Tivo (Thank you Chris for saving this for me). On Oprah, Mr Michael Buble was on. He has broken my heart because he has a new girlfriend :( But my heart was slightly healed when I learned he had a new ablum out. The previous post is the first single of the new CD Crazy Love.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new song!! Can we say "new theme song"? It is completely describes how I have been feeling about about being single. I have been amazed about how I have been ok with being single lately. I again credit it to all the empowering things I have been doing (fix flat, put together desk, actually use proper tools, etc). While in Seattle I was talking with wise man by the name of Steven. I was telling him how I used to look for someone to replace my father. Two things wrong with that. 1) Dad is too great to replace. No man is as good as my Dad is. 2) Instead of wanting someone to "take care" of me, I need to find someone who compliments my personality but not afraid to be different and challenge me. Dad and I are very similar. I have proven I can take care of myself. I don't need that (but yes I would like that. Who doens't want to be taken care of occassionally?).

But thanks to Mom and Dad for teaching me so much!! Thanks for the shoulders to cry on and the love and understanding you demonstrate everyday. Thank you for making me feel loved, needed, and wanted. I love you and glad that you are my parents.

My favorites lines are:

I'm not surprised.
Not everything lasts.
I've broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track.
Talk myself in.
I talk myself out.
I get all worked up, then I let myself down.

I tried so very hard not to lose it.
I came up with a million excuses.
I thought I thought of every possibility.
And I know someday that it'll all turn out.
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out.
And promise you, kid, that I'll give so much more than I get.
I just haven't met you yet.

Mmmm...

I might have to wait.
I'll never give up.
I guess it's half timing,
And the other half's luck.
Wherever you are.
Whenever it's right.
You'll come out of nowhere and into my life.

being adventurous

I am not a very adventurous person. I don't skydive, try funky foods, or take fashion risks. Fashion wise, I stick to solids. I really don't have anything in my closet that is a pattern. I think I may be two shirts shoved in the back. I just dont like to draw that attention to myself.

However that mentality is changing. I am itching to try new things. Nothing drastic or anything but just adding new pieces. Today is the beinging of those additions. It is a new pair of shoes. They are American Eagle flats made of plaid fabric. I got them at Payless on clearance. They were only $2.50 (1/2 off because I got another pair of shoes). I originally thought I would use them to run TJ to the bathroom. But when I saw what I was wearing this morning, I thought it would be a good time to experiment.

Today I am wearing a bright pink cardigan and white tank underneath. The pants are a wet sand color (that is the closest way to describe it). The shoes are a brown, cream, raspberry plaid. A great step for me to do something different. It is amazing how the small things can make a huge difference. Just knowing I took a chance makes me feel so good. Below is a similar shoe (more pink, brown, and base color is cream not white and most imporantly..NO BOW!). Hopefully you get the idea.

I HAVE IT IN MY HANDS!!

So on my break this morning, I ran over to Hastings and go the new Breaking Benjamin ablum entitled Dear Agony. They have already released 1 song call I Will Not Bow and I love it!! But it is Breaking Ben so why wouldn't I love it!! It sucks because the CD player in my computer at work is broken and they wont fix it. So I am stuck sitting here looking at the album just wishing I could hear it. At lunch I am headed straight to my car and sitting there for the 30 minutes listening to the ablum. Thankfully I will be at my parents tonight so it will be a definate add to the mp3 player for the flight. Did I mention that I am flying to Seattle tomorrow? I am SO EXCITED!!

Breaking Ben!!

"Yells”
Now The dark begins to rise, save your breath it’s far from over
Leave the lost and dead behind, now’s your chance to run for cover
I don’t want to change the world, I just want to leave it colder
Light the fuse and burn it up, take the path that leads to nowhere
All is lost again, but I’m not giving in
I Will Not Bow, I Will Not Break
I Will shove the world away
I will not fall, I will not fade
I will take your breath away

“yells”

Watch the end from dying eyes, now the dark is taking over
Show me where forever diesTake the fall and run to heaven
All is lost again but I’m not giving in
I will not bow, I will not break
I will shove the world away
I will not fall, I will not fade
I will take your breath away
And I’ll survive, paranoid I have lost the will to change
And I am not proud, cold blooded fate
I will shove the world away

“yells”

I will not bow, I will not break
I will shove the world away
I will not fall, I will not fade
I will take your breath away
And I’ll survive, paranoid
I have lost the will to change
And I am not proud, cold blooded fate
I will shove the world away

“Yells”
