Baby Steps

So here is what I have been doing to help acheive my goals.

- SAVE MONEY!! I need to buy a house. I did some calculations and I can still make the goal of purchasing for 30 birthday present but I need to stay on track and focused.

Goal: Transfer 75% of paycheck to savings account (the one that I cannot access with ATM or online and have to be in the bank to withdraw from. Love my credit union for having these options. :) )

I have resisted the urge to go shopping but have yet to transfer the funds.  Big plans for the weekend...

But hope is not lost becuase..


- LOSE WEIGHT I am unhappy with my looks and only I have control over it. It is time to shape up. Starting with small goals (again) and working out 3x a week. No more Dr Pepper (WORST PART EVER!!) and taking lunch to work.

Goal: Lose 20lbs by July 4th.

I have dropped drinking soad by 98%.  Ok I don't know if that is the exact percentage but I have kicked the daily Dr Pepper habit.  Hopefully I can continue with momentum.  Also I have been talking to ladies at work and we will be starting a 3 month boot camp at the begining of July.  Mon/Wed/Thu will be the days.  Hopefully I can surive. 


- GET ORGANIZED I have so many projects half completed and unidentified boxes around that I need to determine what I have, need, and should get rid of. Maybe have a garage sale and help build up the house fund.

Goal: Go through 1 box a week.

Well I haven't gone through any boxes but I have gone through my office drawers and my car.  I have the sapce needed to carry items from the donation pile to DI.

- BLOG MORE When I used to write at work, I found myself more relaxed and happier. While I am unable to blog at work (TOO BUSY!!) I still have options from my cell phone and at home.

Goal: Blog at least every Saturday morning.

WOOHOO!!  Blogging a day early. 

My oh My...

how times flies!!!  I cannot even remember last time I posted and I know a million things have happened.  Things like a new baby niece!!  Madison Marie was born on October 1th 2011!!

Here are a few interesting facts:
-middle name Marie is named after me.  Yes I am that special. :)
-I am 26 1/2 years older than this child.
-she hates me. I babysat for a few hours when Lexy & Chris' work scheduled over lapped.  She was bawling the entire time.  Come to find out she had an ear infection but ever since that day, I cannot look and hold her at the same time.  She will start to bawl!!
-I am the only one who really calls her Maddie.
-Her initials are mmm.  Yes MMM! 

What else has happened?  I have failed my ideas already.  They were good while they lasted but I have thrown them out the window. 

School is gonig along.  I really enjoy my English class because the professor is REALLY liberal but it is fun.

Caitlyn and Jana are pregant.  Caitlyn is due in the summer and I think she is going ot have a girl.  Jana is due in November(?) and I think she will have a boy.

I am planning my company's non-company sponsored summer employee picnic.  It is still 6 months away but I feel the time just ticking away!!  There is SO much to do and so little time!!

When I logged in to blog, I had a million things to say and now I don't.

WOW!!  It has been 2 months since my last post.  While there have been ups, downs, and in betweens I shall post a few highlights.

I am surviving school.  I have made it through my first semester with a few bumps and bruises.Today I started my math final and will be registering for the spring semester.  WHEW!!  So glad the first step is over.

Lexy had her baby.  Little Miss Madison Marie.  She is a lovely and sweet.  Miss Maddie (as I call her) was born on October 1st. 

Thanksgiving was fun.

Work is going.  I recently had my revview with management and received 99.9% of praise.  I enjoy my coworkers and responsiblities.  Lately it has become a drag because people have gone on vacation.  Oh well.  In 2012 it will be my turn becuase I have to get ride of an extra 2 weeks vacation.

Atlanta...

On June 13-17, I was able to go to Atlanta GA.  Yes it was to visit our corporate offices and I didn't get any 'touristy' stuff done but that is ok.  What I saw I enjoyed and I had a blast!  Escpecially because it only cost me $40 for the entire week.  That is right.  The job picked up all the expenses and it was amazing.  I understand work so much more and have a deeper appreciation for what others do in the company.  I also realized that I don't work.  The drivers and dock workers work.  I goof around all day (well compared to what they do my job is easy-smeezey).

I flew out of Boise at 630 on Monday.  Dad was a gem and drover me to the airport.  I nearly missed it all because I couldn't find my drivers liscence.  But thankfully all was found and we made it to the airport at 545.

Monday we (my co worker and boss who also went) didn't go to the office.  We had dinner at an AH-mazing resturant called Mojitos' in Norcross GA.  It served Cuban food and the chicken I had was divien.  We each got a dessert and shared.  The rice pudding was ok.  The flan was good.  But my mango pie was perfect!!  OH SO YUMMY!!. 

After dinner, it was sleep and then breakfast at the hotel. Then it was off to the corporate offices to see how the other half lived.  The area our offices are located at is RITZY!! It has the vibe of Harrison St in Boise but you can't see anything because there are so many trees!!  It was so different from Boise.  Boise you can see for miles but there trees surround all the roads so you can't. 

THe offices were fun.  We took the tour, met the big wigs, and shadowed some other types of respresentatives.  We had lunch at Fresh to Order with a supervisor and team leader of customer servcie from the corporate offices.  The girls were so nice and funny.  I wish all my lunches could be so fun. :)

Well after lunch back to work but we left early because we needed to get ready for the Braves game.  We ran back to the hotel to change into shorts and flip flops.  Our department director was nice enough to come to the game with us.  It was kinda intimidating because he rarely smiled while he has been in Boise and I don't know him so that automactically makes me shy.  But everythign turned out great.  He is a nice guy and seeing him in flip flops made me relax.

We had dinner at The Varsity prior to the game.  It is an old drive in dinner and had a great vibe to it. The food was ok.  I would go back just because it was fun to be there.

Atlanta Capital Bldg has a guilded dome and on top sits Miss Freedom.

We made to the Turner Field home of the Atlanta Braves.  We actually parked where the old staduim used to be.  We made it a couple hours early but it was fun to meander and people watch.

We were told by an usher to go to the top of the stadium because there are some interactive games and triva.  It was pretty awesome.  Plus it gave a great view of the field.  This is me before the game began.  I was with three guys and figured they didn't want to come back up during so now was better then never.

Coke reigns supreme down there because that is the were they corporate headquaters are at.  I only got Dr Pepper in the airport on the way home.  I was going through withdrawls.

Notice the Tomahawk.  When they were down or needed to rally, it would start at the top and go down until the Braves sign was lit.

When the Tomahawk was going down, on the sides another tomahawk would appear on the TV screens imitating the chopping motion as well.

And while the tomahawk was on the TV/illuminated, the fans would use their arms to similate the choppping motion as well. They would also chant a chorus of "OHs".  It was funny  to see.

Cant remember who was batting but thought it was fun I was able to captured them in motion.

Random pictures of the game.  Braves lost to the NY Mets 5-4.  Only 1 home run was hit.  It was close game toward the end but they weren't able to rally.  OH well.  The amazing game was on Thursday when there was a rain delay and they went to 11 inning before the Braves won.

Wednesday was spend in the office in the morning and then at the terminal in the afternoon.  The terminal was a real eye opener.  It was hot, sweaty, loud.  You had a great responsiblity to do everything correct and quickly. 

While we were at the terminal a storm was brewing outside and as we were leaving it the lights were cued.  HUGE bolts of lightening were coming out to the sky!! Fairly often and consistantly.  I just had my point and shoot so no pictures of the lightening but I did get a picture (or 2) of the grass fire a struck caused. 

We were at the end of the driveway (to the terminal) waiting for our turn to go when we noticed the smoke and then the fire!! I couldn't believe it!! This happened within a quater of a mile of where we were parked at the terminal.

We went back to Norcross to have dinner at an Italian restaurant.  Unfortunately the power was out.  It was beautiful after the run.  The sidewalks were clear and the train depot was lovely.

We flew home on Friday.  We went to the office for a little bit because our flight didn't leave until 2.  We left office at 1045.  Checked out of the hotel at 1130.  Turned in the rental at 1230.  I was SUPER NERVOUS because we still had to check in, check bags, and go through security.  It was tight and we only made it to the gate in time because we were diverted to a security gate that just opened.

We took off and headed south instead of northwest.  We had to fly inbetween two storms.  According to the little map we ended up close to the Flordia panhandle.  It was a little bumpy the first hour.  The 2nd and 3rd were occupied by up/down back/forth of the couple next to me trying to take care of their kids. It was tolerable.  But the landing was kinda bumpy into Salt Lake.  Our layover was consummed by the diversion.  We had 30 mintues til our other flight took off. I booked it to the bathroom because my chicken sandwich lunch needed to make a reapperance.  At least it was in the bathroom and not on the plane :)

Once loaded on the plane and getting ready for push back, my coworker says "Isn't that Chris?" (Our other coworker had been in Scotland for 2 weeks).  Funny enough it was!!  She was coming home from Scotland!  She was super embarassed when coworker says: "Aren't you supposed to be in Europe?"  She didn't have any make up or usual nice clothes.  Her facial reaction and "OH MY!" was classic.

We finally made it to Boise and my parents picked me up.  It was a fun time but I was ready to be home. 

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Not sure where to start so I will dive right in....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE working in the new department. My days are busy and go by so quickly.  There is one drawback.  The temp in the group.  They have come in late 3 days...3 days out of 30!!  I am not talking 2 mins lite or even 5.  It has been 10 mins or more!!  He doesn't step up and take over projects.  He is ok with skating by.  Why he is even over there is beyond me.  Oh well.  I take comfort in the fact he is just temp and I am permanent.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my finger nails.  I have let them grow out and think they are wonderful.  I am usually a nail biter so this is a good change.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the spring weather.  It makes everything feel new, vibrant, and rejovinating. 

I LOVE LOVE LOVE sleeping in fresh sheets.  I just changed mine last night and it is heavenly!!

feeling like a failure...

Today, I feel like a failure…REALLY BAD!!  I have been working at the same job for 5 years.  There have been a few modifications over the years but nothing drastic.  An opportunity has presented itself to transfer to another department.  I thought I would get it hands down…well not really hands down but I felt compared to the other candidates, I was most qualified.   

I learned that there would be a test.  EEK!!  I am not a good test taker.  Then I learned there would be a math portion!!  EEEKKKK!!!  I am terrible at math.  I squeaked by with a C because of a very generous teacher.  Ok.  I can do this…Or that is what I kept telling myself.  I studied from online help.  I felt a little better.   

Today I took the test.  Typing I aced.  I was pretty good considering I haven’t taken a speed/accuracy test in a LONG time.  Average of 75/wpm with 6 mistakes.  10 Key was half as good.  That was 41 with 10 mistakes. 

Then it was the math test.  WOOHOO! I did better than I thought.  The percentage questions always through me off but 1 out of 5 really isn’t that bad (a lot better than missing them all as I expected).   

What really killed me was the excel test.  I had no idea I should study up on Excel.  I didn’t know formulas, the proper way to do this or that.  What I know is self taught and Google. I crashed and burned. I feel awful.  

I was emailing my Dad and he said You probably did all right then. Any time I took a test and felt good about it I usually bombed t and any time I felt like I did really bad on a test I did all right. Power of positive think is what YOU always say!!! ….“I’M SURE YOU DID ALL RIGHT. See you at home..”   That made me feel better and totally loved.  So I will try to look at the positive: if I don’t get the transfer/promo it means something better is around the corner right?

Lets hope so…..

Hectic update.

So life has been hectic but slow so here are just a few highlights.

-I am now Canyon County Republican Women Secretary.  That happened on January 22nd (I think)
-Major renovation at http://www.canyoncountyrepublicanwomen.com/ which I am very proud of.
-WOOHOO!!  I got a Droid phone!!
-Yesterday, today, and tomorrow I am working 630-1830 so I am beat!!
-Family is very active and healthy
-I cant wait for Monday because I have a day off!!

droll weekend..

After the feelings of Friday, the weekend was kinda a let down. I didn't get my hair colored until Sunday.  And even then the color didn't turn out as I expected it.  Tonight Mom is going to try another color so hopefully we will get it to the dark I want.  Right now I went maybe 1-2 shades darker than my natural color.  I will post pictures when possible.  Saturday was a blah day until the Seahawk game.  What a game!!  We beat the Superbowl champs (NO Saints)!!  WWOOHHOOO!!  It was amazing!!  I still get chills think of it.  We next play the Chicago Bears on Sunday in Chicago.  My new bro in law Josh is a Bears fans so we will see how it goes.

Today I agreed to start work at 530am!!  What was I thinking??!!  I haven't seen 530 in a long time. I am working til 430pm so it will be a fun day. WOOHOOO for overtime pay though.  Now question is, do I want to volunteer for 530am tomorrow too?

Interesting morning so far because:

-I donated blood at work and learned I am A+ bloo type.
-I am excited to dye my hair.
-I am on call to come into work at 530 AM on Monday.
-HALLELUJAH it is FRIDAY!!
-tomorrow is the Seattle Seahawk vs New Orlean Saints playoff game in Seattle and kick off at 230!!

Since the 15th..

-YEAH!!  WE HAVE SNOW THAT HAS STAYED!! (and guess what...it is snowing today!!)

-Thanksgiving has come and gone.

-I had a pulled muscle and found out that muscle relaxers make me loopey.

-BSU LOST!!  Hell has frozen over!!  Stupid Kyle Brotzman missed 2...yes 2!!..field goals that cost us the game.

Yes I shed a tear.  It is so sad!!

-Seattle Seahawks lost (considering our trend that isn't surprising).

-Didn't go Black Friday shopping for the 1st time in years (thanks pulled/torn muscle)

-Saw Harry Potter and it was good (cant wait til next one!!)

-Boise Holiday Parade was a disappointment.

-Made Christmas candy with Lexy and Caitlyn

-Currently working from 830-700 and REALLY miss my old shift of 730-400.  Just 2 more week til I get to switch back.

-Training again at work after a year hiatus  (Training reason for switching schedules)

The Office

Here is our office Halloween. The costume in the first pictures was the bearded guy in the 2nd picture. In the 2nd pictures we have me the hobo, feathered wtich Cheryl, Harley Davidson Karrie, gothie witch Julie, biker couple Penny (redhead) and Tim, devil Heather (with glasses in back) and our two clowns Darlene (big glasses) and Amanda (my supervisor in pig tails) and then Judie the french fries It was a fun time! Wish I had a pic of my entire outfite because it was pretty cool... oh well. maybe next year.

It is the simple things..

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been organizing and cleaning my house like mad.  I finally conquered my bedroom.  Not that things were dirty/gross, but I just let chaos and clutter reign supreme.  I let it get so disorganized because I was emotionally conflicted.  I wanted my outer environment to match my inner emotions. 

So I have taken a few weeks and did baby steps to be organized and in control. All closets are organized.  Unused decorations are Rubbermaid bins.  Used blankets are hanging up.  Thankfully I am pretty much done.  I have hated the process but love the result.  It has taken an invisible load of my shoulders.  I want to stay home now.  I used to escape to my parents house nearly every night but now I want to stay at my house.  I don’t see the clutter in the corners and feel intimidated. 

I like being surrounded by my pretty things.  I enjoy hosting my family for dinners.  My blinds and windows are open so the fresh breeze comes though.

So far I have been able to maintain this for a week.  Aim is to keep it going for another week.

Crazy times...

July has been one crazy time.  Las Vegas was a blast (see previous post).  On July 12th (the Monday after Vegas) was Wyatts birthday.  I was able to get the afternoon off from work and ended up going to Chuck E Cheese with Jana, Wyatt, Mom, Emma, Lexy, Marlee, and Chris.  It as a fun time. 

I work the rest of the week and left work early on Friday to go to Grandma Dalley's 90th Birthday Party.  I rode with Lexy, Marlee, and TJ.  Lexy packed like it was the end of the world.  We made it in good time.  We stopped in Idaho Falls so Marlee could walk around for a little while and we got dinner at Scotty's.  Both Lexy and I ordered vanilla Pepsis.  We get the orders to go so we can get Marlee out of the car as soon as possible.  Neither Lexy and I take a drink until we are on the freeway.  I take a swig and my socks come off.  I might as well been drinking straight from the vanilla bottle.  WAY WAY WAY STRONG!!  Lexy's was the same way.  I was really dissappointed.

We finally make it to Uncle Dennis' house in Rexburg and are able to unload.  Dad, Caitlyn, Emma, and Mom drove over earlier.  Because there wasn' enough room for everyone, only Dad was going to stay with Gma for the night.  He left Rexburg in my car and the rest would meet him up in Driggs Saturday morning.

Because my uncle has an inside cat, TJ and I had to sleep in the van.  It wasn't as bad as I thought.  Saturday morning we got up bright and early so we can eat and get on the road.  Rexburg to Drigss is appx 1 hr.  We make it to Drigss around 1130.  That means we have 90 minutes to set up because the open house starts at 1pm.  Dad and I get the slideshow going, punch gets made, cake cut up, chairs set out.

It was amazing how much family arrived.  It was pretty solid from 1-4pm.  It was nice to talk to cousin I knew about but didn't know. 

Us girls head back to Rexburg about 7pm that night after visiting and dinner.  Dad is meeting us Sunday morning to head home.

Sunday morning we hit the road and make it safe and sound.  I saw a wildwire somewhere between Pocetello and Twin Falls.  It was pretty amazing.

After that trip, I head back to work on July 19th.  I work til Thursday and Friday I had off.  I originally thought Gmas birthday was on the 27th (when it really is on the 18th) so I planned to be in Driggs the 23-26th.  So instead of Driggs, I head up camping with TJ, Jana, Wyatt, Beth's family (5 kids, 1 huband, 2 dogs) and Gina's family (1 husband, 4 kids, and 2 dogs).  It was a fun but a diaster.

Origianlly Beth and her family were to go up early on Friday to get a camping spot and then the rest of us would follow that afternoon.  Unfortunatly, they didn't make it up there so they were going to follow us.  Jana and I planned on leaving around 4pm.  Because we waited for them, we weren't on the road til 6.  We make it up to Cascade around 830.  We head to Horsethief reseviour camp sites.  EVERYWHERE is full.  So we drive on hoping to find somewhere to pull over and camp. 

We end up climbing this rutted, tiny, windy road. It is something that Dad and I would usually be riding a 4wheeler on.  I was really nervous but was victorious.  We finally make it down the other side and find another road.  We take that for a few miles but find out the road is closed for repairs.  UGH!!  It is now 10pm!!  I am beyond annoyed.  Beth and Tim wanted to head back the way we came and I flat refused.  Driving up the crazy road in the night with cranky kids is not my idea of a good time.  I say we just camp by side of road for night and get up in am and move on.

That is what we did.  I had a dinner of a poppy seed muffin and instead of setting up/tearing down tent, TJ and I just slept in the truck.  It was pretty awful.  We get up on Saturday and head back up the mountain. We were driving through a campsite when we saw a family leaving.  It was a nice site.  Enough room for the 4 tents we had and for the 5 dogs. 

Saturday had some gliches but over all it was nice becasue I got to sit and read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  I wanted to finish it but oh well.  We came home Sunday.  I had Monday off.  I use Monday to clean all the camping gear we borrowed from the parents.

Back to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and today.  I am off again tomorrow!!  WOOHOO!!  I am leaving with Dad tomorrow morning to go camping.  We are headed to a secret location to go check huckleberries.  Cant wait for great camping and riding the four wheeler!

Viva Las Vegas

VEGAS IS LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AWAY!!  18 DAY TIL JULY 7TH! FLYING FROM BOISE TO LAS VEGAS!!  WOOHOO!!

Can you tell I am excited?  I am tagging along with Jana and her girlfriends as we celelbrate her graduation and turning 30.  It will be crazy because there is two other groups we are meeting up with.  Jana's friend also graduated so she is bringing her friend/family too.  I think all together there will be 25 girls. We are all in 5 rooms which helped reduce the cost alot.  We are staying at the Bally's resort on the strip.  Taryn (girl from Oregon) said her mother has arranged (and paid) for limos to be at our service all week long!  Crazy I know!!  Really excited because get to see my friend Molly while I am there. 

The great thing is I will off of work for a week.  Friday July 2nd will be a slow day at work because of the holiday.  Monday is work holiday.  I took Tuesday - Friday off.  I was able to squeeze Monday morning off.  I won't have to step a foot inside the office from 4:01pm on Friday July 2nd to 11:45am on Monday July 12th.  How awesome is that!! Jana and I are flying home on Sunday and shlould be home by 8pm.  For our tickets it only cost $275.  I know that sounds like alot but considering the times we are flying (leaving Wednesday at 10am and non stop flight and coming home on Sunday at 12 with 1 layover) that aint bad.

I AM SO EXCITED!! 

hmmm..

so it has been awhile since I posted.  Instead of going into great detail I will post highlights:

- On Friday June 11th, Jana graduated from Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario OR. After a long struggle of schedules (work, school, day care), computer problems, money, time, and stress, she hs finished her goal.  She graduated with a degree in medical office administration or something like that.  I had to work Friday til 4p, but had to be in Ontario by 630 (program started at 730).

I had to flay home and get ready.  Thankfully we as a family were car pooling to the graduation.  We all pile into the van and head to Caldwell to pick up Stacey.  As we are exiting the freeway to head to Stacey's house, I notice smoke just pouring from underneath the van.  We quickly pull over into a vacant lot and scramble out thinking the van could explode.  Dad opened the hood and saw the radiator hose had exploded.  So it wasn't smoke we saw, it was steam.

Now we are in a perdicament.  How to get 6 adults and 2 kids to Ontario.  There was Dad, Mom, me, Lexy, Cailtyn, Stacey, Emma, and Wyatt.  Thankfully Stacey has a 12 person van with carseats (she runs a day care) so a quick phone call and she came and saved us.

Nothing special about the graudation.  Got some really great pics of Jana that I will post when I get home.
We make it back home around 1030.  Dad called AAA and had the van towed home. Thankfully it was something he could fix.  That van has been on too many family trips and adventures to die. 

- Saturday after the graudation, Lexy and I rode our bikes to the farmers market.  I really love my new bike.  I did run into a couple of issues.  With the new seat, I need to lower the seat down because I have to stand on my tippey toes when I am stopped to keep it balanced.  I need to secure the seat somemore because there entire time I was sliding forward.  So basically I was standing up while riding.  TJ was nervous but stayed seated the entire time.  He didn't bark or tried to jump. We are repeating it again this weekend so hopefully we have corrected the mistakes and it will go off without a hitch.

- Saturday afternoon there was a big shindig at Jana's house to celelbrate her great achievement.  There were tons of kids and food.  The weather was a little chilly but the kids still played in the water.  It was a great suprise to see our cousins Heidi and Gena with our Aunt Bette show up.  Heidi and Better live in eastern Idaho so they came to visit Gena and her new daughter Lucy.  It was a fun time visiting with them.

- After the bbq, Caitlyn and Brandon were hosting a UFC fight.  So I go to that too.  It was dissappointing because the guy I was rooting for was knocked out at the end of the first round so Brandon's guy won.  But points to my guy because he broke the other guys forearm.  Barberic I know. 

- Sunday was spend triming the lilac bushes in my parents back yard. I got a little color in my arms.  I really worked the arms.  This Sunday will be spent weeding the garden in the morning because Lexy has failed to do her turn.  Oh well.  It will be good for me.

- The work week was long because I have been working over time.  I work from 730-630 nearly everyday.  Got to pay for Vegas. I survived my review with our new manager.  It has been so much better with him here.  The atmosphere is so much more relaxed.  It helps that a couple I didn't like are no longer here! 

- On Wednesday I went to a tanning salon for the first and got started on tan.  I am going nearly nearly everyday.  Got to work on it for Vegas!!  It is so much more relaxing than I thought.  It was warm and could put me to sleep.  I was only in there for 7 minutes and looking forward to the time when I can lay down for 20! 

- I need to get a new phone..which I think I will do today.  The old phone of Chris' I was using, is on it's last leg.  The screen is cracked, the flip is loose, it vibrates randomly, some keys aren't working properly. 

Bike Basket..

So I have been riding bike on the weekends. I have to leave TJ behind because I don't have a basket to put him in. Well I found on. But it was all metal and that would hurt to sit/stand on. Plus it was black metal so that would make it really hot. SO. While talking to my coworker we came up with great idea to make a cover for it. Because I am not that great of a sewer and she is she took on the project for me. This is what she came up with.

Pretty awesome huh? There will be ropes on the side to attach to TJ's body harness so he doesn't fall out. Pictures will be posted sometime Saturday to show of what we have accomplished!

Simplified...

I have decided to simplify my life.  The game plan:  not caring what others think.  If I don't care what they think, I won't be influenced by their opinions and try to do what they will like.  So what if I got out without makeup.  I just saved myself 10 minutes.  This is way easier said then done but I have already started in small steps and had a huge victory....

I had a friend recently reconnect.  I was so mad about what happened to friendship (friend just dropped off face of the earth).  So friend emailed me.  First reaction was to be nice but I have been letting my "inner" bitch out this year.  I let friend have it.  No apolgizes.  It was so easier to be completely honest and not worry about their feelings.  That sounds really callous but I can't control their emotions to being with so why am I letting the POSSIBLITY of feelings dictate what I do?

So I thought life was going to get even more complicated with a promo at work.  I was wrong.  I was told that if I had better attendence that I would have been given the job hands down. Now I will just go to work sick. Sorry to my coworkers.  I am trying to stay positive and think this only means something better will come along.  Just keeping my fingers crossed I don't have to wait another four years.  Lesson learned.  So life will stay simple at this point.

This is Megan who you called to track your freight, schedule your pick up, and to complain to.  I just wanted to tell you TO CLEAN OUT YOUR EARS and request you GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!  Please listen to the questions I am asking.  I am not just radomly pulling a question out of nowhere.  I am asking for a specific purpose.  That purpose is to get you OFF THE PHONE as soon as possible with as much information as possible so you WILL NOT CALL BACK!!  When I ask "what address", I am not asking for the details on the freight.  I want the STREET address that we are picking up from.  When I ask for the destination zip code, it is not an inviation for the company name or street addres...just the ZIP CODE!!

You are calling to complain becasue we messed up your shipment.  If you would have actually READ the transit time, you would see that is marked 4 days...not 2.  Please see your optomistrist as soon as possible to prevent further damage...damage to your eyes and to my brian because I am pounding my head up against the wall because of your stupidity.

WOW!!

Can't believe it has been over a week since I posted!! Let me update you a little,

I am working on my new years resolution very well. I followed suit of the majority of the country and set my sights on losing weight. I have survived a week and have been improving each day. A better Megan is emerging. I have been blogging about it on a different page and it helps me so much. No one reads it but it is still there for me. You should try it if you have a common goal.

I got the problem solved at work. I am no longer mad...annoyed=EXTREMELY!! Readers Digest version. I submitted to have July 6-9 off from work on the form we have to fill out at the end of the year. It was my first choice. There are only 5 people who have more senority than I. Last Monday, we get our forms back with the approved dates and I was not approved for my first choice. I assumed that it went to someone with more senority (understand but I have been asking off for a year).

I couldn't find out who received the days until the posted the calendar at boss' desk. I strees for a week. Finally on...I think it was Friday, the calendar is available. A coworker has it at her desk so it isn't posted yet so I can see it. Coworker advises me someone with LESS senority than I received the day off.

Think I was mad before? I was so mad I was ready to cry and storm my bosses office. All that morning I just have steam coming out of my ears. Finally bosses posts calendar and I walk by. The person with less doesn't have the day approved.....there name is on the day because it is their birthday!! My blood pressure drops a couple thousands points.

But now I am confused.....nobody has those days off. Now I am wondering why I wasn't approved in the first place?!?! They could have saved me so much angst if they just would have given me the days off to begin with!! GRRR!!!

Now I have to email my boss and see if she will approve me for that weekend. Thankfully she does but really people.

Saturday was a fun day. I started off making spaghetti sauce to freeze (plus it made a great brunch on Saturday too). Did a little cleaning. Then it was off to DD for my sister and her birthday party. What a great time. Sushi was amazing for dinner and then we went to dueling piano bar in Meridian. What great singers. I will have to go back because it was alwasy a....SING A LONG!!

I finally collapse into bed at 5am on Saturday. I wake up at 8am because TJ needed to go out. I couldn't fall back to sleep becasue at 930, friends were picking me up to go get my car (because I drove their van home). Sunday couldn't take a nap so I vegged at parents house.

Sunday night I didn't get any good sleep because I was have stomach issues. Come Monday morning, I said screw it. I am sleeping in and called in sick to work (which techinically I was).

Monday afternoon, my stomach was pretty ok. I went to play with neice and nephews and took them all gifts I have been holding onto for a while. They loved it. Emma loved her Ariel doll. Wyatt loved the spider man lunch tote. Marlee loved to rock out on the piano (4 keys).

Monday I made spaghetti for the family.

Tuesday I got myself out of bed and exercised before I went to work. It made my day. Now I am working on setting a playlist to rock out to while I am exercising. Bonus on today is Dad is upgrading my memory in my laptop. Thank heavens he works at Micron (and still has a job).

so mad...so so so mad...

I am SO MAD!! I cannot believe it!! I had requested July 7-14th off since JULY OF 2009!! However, my boss says we cant schedule vacation that far in advance. We have to fill out a stupid form in December to preplan the vacation. THE ONLY ONE I WANTED WAS THE WEEK IN JULY!! Did I get the week? NO!! It went to someone with higher senoirity than I. Even though I have been ASKING FOR IT FOR 6 MONTHS!! GRR!! Am I ready to go through HR and say look-I understand seniority however, I have been asking and it is the stupid policy that prevented me from getting it.

No matter what I will be going to Vegas. I will just be calling in sick!! GRR!!
